What stays on your device
Saved routes, Favorite Places, recent searches, route notes, and local settings are stored on your device unless you explicitly use encrypted sync, sharing, export, or a map service that needs the data to answer your request.
Data sent to map and weather providers
When you search or calculate an online route, RoadGlass sends the minimum location, search, vehicle-profile, and timing information needed for that request to the active provider. Premium TomTom requests pass through the RoadGlass gateway so the provider credential is not stored in the app. Weather requests are sent to the configured weather services.
Premium access and usage metering
The gateway validates a short-lived RoadGlass entitlement and stores bounded daily usage counts. It is designed not to put account identifiers, route coordinates, search text, contacts, or trip history into its usage dashboard.
Encrypted sync
If enabled, library data is encrypted on your device before upload. The private sync code is not sent to the gateway. Losing that code may make the encrypted copy unrecoverable.
Location and contacts
Location and contact permissions are optional and requested only when you invoke a related feature. A selected contact address is sent to the active map provider only after confirmation.
Retention and deletion
You can delete local routes and places in the app. If encrypted sync is enabled, use the explicit cloud-copy deletion control to remove that encrypted copy.
Contact and controller details
Final company address, privacy contact, jurisdiction-specific rights, subprocessors, retention periods, children’s privacy terms, and store disclosures must be completed before launch.
